MAC OSX Noise...Solutions?

[raneparish]

HELP!

I just made the switch from OS9 to Panther and the white noise coming from the audio outs is driving me crazy! Its volume varies to annoying to loud enough to compete with dialogue on the project I'm editing...even music! I've heard other people complain about this but as yet, no definative fix.

Any solutions out there?

thanks -Rane

Re: MAC OSX Noise...Solutions?

Hi...You might want to do a search for CHUD in your browser. It's a free set of tools for OSX that will stop the noise but you'll have to go to System Preferences every time you boot, click on the new "hardware" button and uncheck the " nap " button. Hope that helps.

Don't know much about osx but on my pc I have to go in soundcard menu and mute the mic input to make the noise stop.
