MAC app for managing P2?

A quick look and I didn't see anything recent on this. Somebody please make some recommendations for me.

On a MACbook Pro with Duel adapter, what apps exists for offloading P2 to disk and then formatting the card for reuse? Should I stay with manually copying the card to a directory, which seems like the quickest?

Is there anything I can use to simply format the P2 from the Mac?

P2CMS can copy files over, and the P2 Formatting Station software can format the cards.

P2 Genie and P2 Log/HD Log also have offload capability.
 
Option 2: Mac Finder can transfer the P2 files but can not format the card ...obviously (Use the camera for that)

Sounds like the formatter only works with the P2 drive. This is disappointing. And none of the third party apps can format too? What's behind this? Or should it be obvious?

I love being a "Windows Guy" at times like these and enjoy remembering the smug B.S TV ads that Apple made that were so derogatory of PC (users) .

P2 is so easy on a PC and so many choices .

BTW - I also do have a MAcPro Intel system in my suite and the Finder method worked flawlessly.
 
P2 Card formatter for Mac (only for AJ-PCD20/Card Bus Driver)
The "Card Bus Driver" is what you'd be using to read the card, assuming you're using the DuelAdapter or similar. The Mac drivers will do what you need.

I have a panasonic drivers and utilities page that I try to keep updated and easier to understand.
 
from my experience, you cant beat:

- drag drop card contents in mac finder
- eject card
- replace card into camera
- format in camera

i dont know that any of the various utilities will be remarkably (if any) faster.
and from what ive seen, in camera formatting is more foolproof.
 
Ditto what Matt said. Only thing I like about P2 Genie over P2Log/HDLog is the little thumbnail pic that gives you some visual idea of what shot is downloading. Name filing feature has developed a little bug as OS X has evolved. After I enter a new name to replace NO NAME , I have to close /reopen the app in order for the new name to stick, OTW my last used folder name shows up with next sequential number.
I think Anders has died and gone to RED heaven.

Hi Folks,

If anyone uses HD Log....look for a pretty substantial update being release with some cool new features like a printable log for verification of offloading if you're on-set and need a handoff.

Check it out soon.

Anyone having issues with OSX 10.5.3 and the Duel Adapter? I had some issues but could function with 10.5.2......seems to be broken with update.
