Hi y'all, I'm sure I could be finding this a million different places, but what is the crop value on a M43 sensor? I know APS-C is 1.6 and APS-H is 1.3... Does 4/3 mean 1 1/3 inches? Thanks

Just to add to this while I see it, am I right in thinking it's a 2x crop for dslr lenses but only 1.2 for PL mount glass?
2x for compared against a "full frame" DSLR. 1.2x for compared against a 35mm cinema camera.Just to add to this while I see it, am I right in thinking it's a 2x crop for dslr lenses but only 1.2 for PL mount glass?

So a 25mm on the Af101 = 50mm in 5D terms, whereas a 42mm lens (if it exists) on an AF101 would be the equivalent of a 50mm on a 35mm Cine Camera, right?
But it's not a function of the pl/cine glass, it is the sensor/film size you are comparing it to.One of the reasons I prefer PL/Cine glass, as it's not far away with the 1.2x crop. Really, if users point of reference is the 5D/Full frame, they'll feel restricted... but, if you're used to cine glass, it doesn't change your framing much on a the AF101 (GH1/GH2) etc.
Yes, you understand it.
