The new firmware brings the lenses to version 1.1 and supports the following lenses:
  • LUMIX G 14mm / F2.5 ASPH. (H-H014)
  • LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S. (H-FS014042)
  • LUMIX G FISHEYE 8mm / F3.5 (H-F008)
  • LUMIX G VARIO 100-300mm / F4.0-5.6 / MEGA O.I.S. (H-FS100300)
  • LUMIX G VARIO 7-14mm / F4.0 ASPH. (H-F007014)
  • LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S. (H-FS014045)
  • LUMIX G VARIO 45-200mm / F4.0-5.6 / MEGA O.I.S. (H-FS045200)

just updated my G Vario 100-300 f4-5.6 to 1.1 with the AF100 and shot a quicky test with Auto Settings. i have to say: the focus appears quicker; no clicking on aperture change; and imo (from this quick test) insignificant breathing with zooming. Zooming with auto focus used to breath back-forth and then snap into focus—most of the time before this update.

btw, the noise you hear in the background is my clothes dryer.

I've updated 14-140 HD Panasonic lens and i must say that now it has the most awesome OIS i have ever seen! As i hold camera in one hand there is literaly NO movement in the picture (even when i was shaking camera on purpose!!!). And i'm talking about full zoom.

Prove it, pants on fire!
jkg, post something, please.
I'm considering using the AF100 for weddings.
Selling my HPX 170 - wise choice or no?

It is most def not a run n gun camera. Could be very nice for b-roll shots (more static stuff that you can take time to work with).
Yes, I figured, but with the 14-140mm on there can't you put it in full automatic as one is wont to at weddings? I was hoping that the firmware would make this more feasible.

The aperture on the 14-140 changes in discrete steps when in automatic mode, producing sudden changes in exposure. You'd be doing all zooms manually, which is difficult to do smoothly compared to a servo zoom. And when zooming quickly, the lens internally readjusts focus (it is not a natively parfocal lens design, but compensates by electronically adjusting focus as you zoom) so the picture can go fuzzy for a second or two. Finally, it's a pretty slow lens, only f/5.8 at the long end. As long as you have a good amount of light and never ever change the zoom or iris during a shot, the 14-140 can make pretty good images, and the focal length range is really useful, but it's a far cry from a dedicated ENG lens or the ones built in to cameras like the HPX170 or the upcoming AC130/160.

I would want a more conventional video camera or two to cover the main events at a wedding and think the AF would be most useful as a separate B-roll camera. There are certainly things it could do very, very well, but guaranteeing full coverage of a fast-moving event isn't its forte.
