Hey Guys,

Here is yet another video I AC'ed on. It is by Ostrichhead - Freak Show Carnival.

Shot in 2 days, with the HVX stock lens. We had a day with steadicam and a crane, the other was strictly handheld. Shot in Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Blvd, Venice Beach, Downtown LA. All round LA.

sorry for the crappy YouTube quality.

my good friend Marc Shap was the DP.

here's the link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGm-gwHwgcQ

Man that's a GREAT GREAT VIDEO. Fun to watch... looks like it was fun to make... And here's the kicker... Actually a great track. Liked that music a lot and it fit so well with the style and locations. Loved the CG work.. and the chick is so hot. The beginning is cut really well.

Was this a nice budget? Record company shoot? I've been searching to do a video down here.. and either the bands turn out to be lame, or they are such assh***s that its not worth working on one. Shot lots of concerts but not a video.

Congrats indeed on being able to be a part of these. The work is the one big reason I would move to LA.. but there's a million other reasons I won't.

Keep up the posting.. What else ya got? Do you DP as well? THIS WAS GREAT!

Indeed.. You CALI boys are spoiled with the work you get to be a part of... I too liked the simplicity and style to the look.. Like them bricks a lot! And what a surprise to have a band that is actually talented!

I liked the subtle CG effects -- they were well-blended with the lighting. What was the CG tool used?

Hey guys, I will post some more projects I've shoot in the next coming week. Iam waiting for right and all that crap to clear with companies. This video was shot with a very slim budget. It was actually funded by the bands fans through myspace. The producers, Jordan and Seth, acquired the money by making the fans a part of the video making process. Awesome idea. But for the money they had, they got alotta bang for their buck, as you can see.

the amazing thing is that most of the shots ie, red brick backround, hollywood blvd walking. were shot with the fig rig, no steadicam. and they came out GREAT. props to marc shap for his camera work.

venice beach was shot with the DVRIGPRO the model with the stomach support. MY WORST NIGHTMARE CAME TRUE WHEN MY CAMERA FEEL OFF THE RIG. luckily Marc, with his cat like reflexes, kicked out his leg and broke the fall but bruised his leg. A War story incase you guys wanted to hear one.

I wouldnt recommed that rig for supported cameras over about 8 pounds, I made my own stomach support rig by taking the part of the dvrigpro and using it with the birns n sawyer shoulder support i bought from filmtools. works GREAT.

Wow... the fig rig...? I haven't had a chance to use one yet.. but this is impressive looking so might have to try it. I have been skeptical of a lot of those body mounted stabelizing systems...
