LVF/LCD Auto greyed out

I would like to turn this setting to off so that the LCD stayed active all of the time but it is greyed out. Is there anyway to activate this option? Why would it be greyed out? I am using ipowell's 40Mbps High Reliability patch with native 24p checked.
 
Hmmm I have no idea, I am trying to get it to grey out on mine just futzing with the menus and can't seem to.
 
I am wondering if it is a by product of the hack settings I am using? Anyone else have any ideas? Anyone else using the High Reliability Patch with Native 24p checked, that can see if this is greyed out or not?
 
Sorry to resurrect such an old thread. I'm having this problem too on a newly acquired hacked GH1. It started life as a Japanese language model. Any leads?
