Luts workflow

Guys, i am digging into color and grading for the last 2 month starting with Johannes Itten and all that fundamental stuff. Parallel i want to understand film and how it was done back in the days to get a better picture on how its done now, what people try to copy and so forth. I always had my preference for specific movies and more and more i get what i liked on a technical level.

After reading a lot about LUT's i checked a lot of them over the last year including filmconvert and so forth. I am thinking about buying Koli's stuff with the money of my next job after reading a lot about how they were created. Dont ask me why i wanna spent that much money, i did my research and for me its worth it and i wanna pay them for their hard work.

So i get that there is normally a negative film and a print film. You chose which one fits to your project/time for negative and same for print. Now i would like to try the same for my footage: Using the Koji log to log kodak LUT as the 3d input lut and at the end of the chain a Log to rec709 kodak lut. In the middle one node for grading.

Is this a concept that should work as a negative and print workflow or do i oversee anything?
