FS7: LUTs staying in Sgamut3.cine for delivery (non colour-managed applications?)

Okay so I´ve started to use LUTs that does not convert my gamut away from Sgamut3.cine.
Basicly I add a gamma curve and saturation to the midtones while desaturating highlights and shadows.
I tend to really like the colours there, they feel natural to me.

Is there any pitfalls that I might not understand with this approach?
Could the larger than REC709 gamut display different colours depending on colour management in applications?

Thanks,
Ed

Just check your broadcast levels if you're going to broadcast because out of gamut colours will fail QA. As you're desaturating highlights they should be fine but any waveform that ends up below the 0 level could be an issue.

For everything else no one will notice as the difference between SGamut3.cine and REC709 will range from subtle to non-existent.

HTH.

Working in Resolve? A rec.709 LUT for the log file you're working in will conform the shot. Weather you do that by hand or not, it's most likely you're still working within a rec.709 colour space. I can't confirm that however as I don't know your workflow. But stepping outside rec.709 usually has a few components so you would know clearly if you were or not. If its for broadcast, it must be broadcast safe. This may be more to what you're talking about however as even though you're working in a rec.709 colour space its still possible to have luminance and colours that don't fall within the limits of rec.709 broadcast.
