Hi All,

just to let you know I uploaded a new version of LUTCalc the other day. It is up online at lutcalc.net, and it should have come through as an update on the Mac App store and Chrome Web Store.

The new stuff is:

* New Feature - Hybrid-log gamma.
* New Feature - All Sony Hypergammas (1-8) plus Cinegammas 1 and 2 are now included (HG4 is also the same as Cinegamma 1, HG2 the same as Cinegamma 2).
* New Feature - Rec709(800%) with black at 3% (the built-in LUT in Sony CineEI mode) is now included as an input gamma option. Not an ideal situation, but can be used to reverse an accidentally burnt-in LUT in CineEI mode.
* New Feature - Provisional SmallHD preset based on SmallHD feedback - pending confirmation.
* Feature Change - Hypergammas 7 & 8 plus Rec709 (800%) have been recalculated along withe the other Hypergammas for precision.
* Feature Change - Improved / more robust gamma reversal code for LUTAnalyst.
* Bugfix - fixed slight offset to x-axis in LUT in / LUT out chart.
* Bugfix - Fixed initial black clip / white clip bounds on the stop chart not displaying.
* Bugfix - typo meant that SPI3D files were generated without the mesh sizes.

As ever, let me know how it goes,

Ben

You're the man Ben! :D
This software could easily be made by some big company and charged much, much more than that. I strongly advise you to bring your price up to at least $20 or higher. This maybe will give you a little bit more time to work on it. I will be happy to pay.

Ben, here are my ideas for next updates. More of a functionality then feature side. (I've posted that in a different thread as well)
What I'd love to see is:
- default camera choice (saved after closing LUTcalc)
- auto naming conventions for LUT title if I don't want to give it a custom name (for example combined from settings chosen: minus1stop_slog3_6000K)
- default saving directory with "save" button. So for example you could point it at directory for LUT's in Resolve and then every single new LUT would be generate there by simply pressing "save" (without dialog box).
- white balance and stop correction range generator. When creating a LUT I almost always generate it for at least 5-6 WB settings and same goes for stop correction. I would be so helpful if a range of LUTs with different WB and stops could be generated automatically (by option).

Thank you Ben! I recently used LUTcalc to bring the F3 Slog into the modern Sony LUTs. Now the F3 looks as bad as the newer Sonys ;)

Hi Ben,

I already bought your app some time ago via the store.
Thank you very much for the recent update!

I have a little feature request though: Would it be possible to use the HyperGammas as input / Rec Gamma?
Currently I'm linearizing them in Resolve by hand and it would be really cool if I could create a HG4 => S-Log2 LUT. While S-Log2 is cool on the A7s, I'd rather shoot with Cine1 to use the 8 bits more effectively.

Thanks again and BR
Michael
