FS7: LUTCalc v2.0 - Now with Mac App Store and Google Chrome Web Store versions

Is there a need to roll out different LUTs for the 3 white balance presents in FS7 CineEI mode?

I.e. custom whitebalance a 3200K LUT to put out a 3200K, or is a one LUT does all three?

Hi All,

I've finally had the Apple App store pass the latest update to LUTCalc - v2.3.4. This one has been up on the online site and the Chrome Store for about a week now, but a glitch with the App Store review process held things up there. If you use the Mac version and haven't seen an update, check the App Store. Ditto the Chrome store if your version is currently showing lower than v2.3.4.

A few updates worth noting:
* New Feature - Gammas and Gamuts available sorted by manufacturer, type (log, display, HDR Display, etc) or as the previous flat list.
* New Feature - Generic camera option where the user selects the recorded gamma and gamut.
* New Feature - Additional MLUT format presets: Zacuto Gratical, Divergent Scopebox, AJA LUT-box.
* New Feature - FCP X Color Finale / Color Grading Central LUT Utility Preset.
* New Feature - 'Display gamma correction' preset for say mapping scene linear to Rec709 or γ2.4 to PQ.
* New Feature - GoPro Protune Gamma and Gamut (from ACES devel matrix and Cineform blog).
* New Feature - Additional gamma and gamut options.
* New Feature - Further Dolby PQ options based on mapping reference white to selectable nits values (also shows stop headroom).
* New Feature - Good Broyden's used to estimate gamut primary triangles for LUTAnalyst-read LUTs.
* Bugfix - Binary file saving now works in the OSX App.
* Bugfix - Fixed different binary saving bug in Chrome App.
* Bugfix - Gamma and gamut options properly hidden or revealed in OSX App.
* Bugfix - LUTAnalyst gamuts could become hidden when the format changed.
* Bugfix - Fix incomplete input scaling bugfix from v2.2, which meant that scaling was only applied if both lower and upper bounds were changed.

Hopefully the added presets should make make things easier and more consistent - something I learn more and more is how often different bits of software and hardware handle LUTs in different ways! As ever feedback gratefully received.

Martin.G - sorry not to have replied; I've had rather a busy patch filming-wise and not been on this forum much lately. With different white balance presets, the camera is feeding the LUTs colour adjusted data. One LUT is generally fine for all the presets.

Thanks,

Ben
