It's similar to what other companies offer and may be nice to have if you've invested a lot into Panasonic.
Personally, I don't hold onto cameras long enough for these kind of services to be valuable, but they are definitely worth it for many (and the $199 tag is more than reasonable).

I have four Lumix cameras (their requirement is two) and I have the required four Panasonic lenses. I was all ready to sign up for that, so I started filling out the form and discovered there is a $199 fee. Looking closer, of my four cameras that are branded "Lumix," only one is on the list: a GH5. (I also have a GH3, GX8 and ZS100 -- my wife and I share the GX8 and ZS100, and the GH3 is dead.) So I do not qualify. And wouldn't pay $200 for the service anyway, although I suppose there is someone out there who might.
