i just got lumix g7 and it is great camera, but I have one question regarding space on SD card. On gh4 there is TC on display so you can see recorded time, but G7 doesn't have it. Is there any way to see recored time, or time remainig or space left on SD card so it doesn't cut out in the middle of ceremony or something important

Okay, I just tested this on my G7.

On the "Custom" menu, when in Program/Shutter/Aperture/Manual mode on the control dial, there is a setting called "Remaining Disp." - remaining display. You can set it to show either the number of images, or the time.

Then, you have to "toggle" through the different available displays using the rear "DISP' - display button, just to teh right of the green "Review Images/Video" button.

However, when I switch the control dial to "Movie" mode, the display goes to Remaining Minutes- even if I had it set to number of images. The "Remaining Disp" menu option under the Custom menu is also greyed out. When I start recording video, it shows both the elapsed time in the upper left, and the remaining time in the lower right.

I know that I had to enable the display of Histograms in the menu system in order to have that in my "DISP" toggle options. You can also turn the "Monitor Info Display" on or off. But I don't think there are other settings to change the "Remaining" display than the one above.

FWIW, I really like the rear dial layout and the twin dials on the G7 better than the GH4. I love the control pad with the "UP=ISO", "RIGHT=WB" etc. option choices. I really wish that the GH4 had that now. Some of these menu & interface differences between the G7, GH4, and FZ1000 drive me a bit nuts (as a newer Panasonic user), especially when I use both G7 and GH4 in a shoot and I don't really remember which one I have in my hands.

Although my Nikon D750 is even worse, versus the D5300. There are buttons scattered all over the body, and most are not reprogrammabe. There is also no "Quick Menu", like there is on the D5300 (and G7, GH4, A600, etc.) :(

Good luck!

Thnks fo reply, nd there is no such option in manual movie mode. It would be great if they included TC counter (total recorded time).
And one more question, how much recording time do you get from single battery, and how much does it fit on 32gb card (my math says 2:25-2:40h)

I only remember the numbers for 4K 30P right now. I am getting about 55 GB on a 64GB card in about 1 hour 20 minutes of recording. I got a little more data on the GH4 than the G7 in that same time, I had to swap out the 64GB card on the GH4 for just a few minutes.

I feel safe running the G7 for that amount of time on the sale Panasonic OEM battery. I have been placing a second, fresh Wasabi battery next to the camera to swap out at the 30 minute or 60 minute mark, when I have to restart the camera. I did swap it when there was a break, but otherwise I have been okay with the 1 battery for most of the 64 GB card.

I bought 2, 64 GB Sandisk Extreme Pro for about $80 to $88 on sale maybe 6 months ago? Those are the fastest UHS 1 cards in almost every camera. You can look at cameramemoryspeed.com to compare cards.

The Lexar 128 GB 1000x cards are about $120 for 2 some places. I may upgrade to those, they are fairly fast. But I am also debating whether to get UHS II cards to be more "future proof."

Unfortunately, the Lexar 128 GB 1000x, "150 Mbs" cards are pretty slow compared to the Sandisk and Lexar UHS 1. And the Lexar 2000x UHS II , which are about as fast as the UHS I in current cameras, are pretty expensive. So too soon to buy those.

Good luck!

I get around 90 mins from a battery.
How much time you get onto a card depends entirely on the camera recording settings.
