On panasonics website it says that recording limit for g7 is 29:59 or 4gb file, so does it stop after 4gb when in FHD mode or makes new file and continues to 23:59?
For 4k says that it makes new file every 4gb but it continues till 23:59.

Also which affordable card to use for 4k recording?

I don't do events. So I don't really hit that 4GB limit, nor the 29:59 limit either.

As to which affordable card to use...

...SanDisk if you care about your work.

I'm using the 32GB and 65GB versions of the SanDisk Extreme Pro 95Mbps card at $29.95 and $52.94 respectively and the only problem I've ever had was a write protect tab that broke. SanDisk replaced the card under their lifetime warranty (save your reciepts!) with no hassle to me.

The G7 is a great camera for the price.

It will keep going and split when in FHD mode if it ever exceeded 4GB, but after it reaches the time limit, it will stop and you will have to restart it.

That is a relay tough question! Are you shooting 4K? Which Sony A7x.

The Sony A7S is going to require a $100 to $1,800 external recorder for 4K. After already costs 2x as much or more than the G7 - about $650 for a G7 body net of the 14-42 kit lens (at $750 total), versus $1,600 used for an A7S.

The A7 or A7R are less than $900 used, but that is 1080 P. There are a ton of 1080P options out there.

i think we need a lot more of a description of what you want/ need. Good luck!

I was thinking on first version of regular a7 (not s, not r).
I need it for shooting weddings as second shooter, and for now I don't shoot 4k, so how does g7 compare to a7 in 1080p image quality? Also how they compare in lowlight?

Also I was thinking of 70d, but it can't do 50fps out of the box so it is out.
