GH2 Lumix G3 sensor - 25fps?

I've been looking at the new Lumix G3 camera as a solution for multi-cam shoots and noticed that the spec for 1080/50i video says the sensor runs at 25p. Am I right in thinking that it would be relatively simple to convert the 50i stream back to 25p without quality loss? Does this get round the issue the GH2 has because it captures at 50p?

I read a bazillion reviews etc on the G3 the last couple of days, and it was a confusing mess to say the least. But in one they talked about the sensor being at 30fps and in the next breath they talked about it giving 720 60P. A forum buddy and I discussed it some. He said he backed away because there was no 24P to mix with his GH2.
