Lumix 35-100mm f/2.8

Thank you for the link. I've pre-ordered a GH3 with a SmallHD DP7 High Bright and this new panny lens would be perfect for this rig. Just pre-ordered that too. I've been so swamped lately I didn't even know that lens was coming out :-)

Bern where did you get your copy? I want to get one this week if I can. They seem to be still in pre-order. DigitalRev has them in stock but at $1600. Thats $200 over B&H.

Great, we already have our GH3 and 35-100 lens ordered from B&H and status on both is "back ordered". I guess we'll just wait...

Just received the Lumix 35-100. WOW!!!!

OIS is crazy good and NO weired iris flicker when zooming. If only the 12-35 didn't do this. Maybe, hopefully that can be fixed with firmware update. Need to get out and shoot something.

Erik got his from Samy's.

I know this from private correspondence, but if you look at his photo you'll recognize the oversized Samy's receipt.

Chris,

Sent you a PM, actually two, & my contact is checking stock.

Surpising how few copies have hit the states.

I'm thinking about getting the GH3. I don't see another digital cinema camera purchase for me this year so might go for it. It's performance as a stills camera is supposed to much improved and the codec is also better for video.

It's not truly parfocal, & loses focus briefly like the 12-35, or 14-140, but seems to recover quicker. Haven't tested this yet, but a creeping zoom may hold focus well enough. Snap zooms definitely buzz briefly, which can be confirmed by eye, & via the AF100's distance readout.
