Lumix 14-140mm & More ?

I know we're all getting a bit giddy on here as the 20th gets closer but after reading a few weeks back a few of you had recommended buying the Lumix 14-140mm as a good all round lens.

Now I hear some of you saying its rubbish and cheap glass (£500+ Lumix 14-140mm) only produces a cheap image ?

Does anyone realistically know (before it arrives on the 20th, if you're lucky) what kind of glass is really going to be suited to the AF-101 ?

Will my Zeiss ZE set still be worth using when the Birger mount arrives ?

I have the 14-140, I also have Zeiss primes. Comparing these the 14-140 is rather flat looking but it's a sharp lens and very versatile in focal span and OIS. I for one would never use the 14-140 to do any commercial but for corporate it might come in handy.

Have my hope at the Birger-adapter as well.

I may be wrong here, but you would not need the Birger mount for your manual Zeiss lenses. Just get yourself a Canon-MFT adapter.

You might have seen this already but I'll post it just in case.

I'm not so sure on your shooting style but I know for me shooting a live event, I love the luxury to go from 14mm to 140mm without changing out lenses and increasing my chances of getting particles inside or missing the shot. Never mind the fact that in some situations, I'm around a lot of people.

Everybody has their own reasons for liking or hating that lens. You just got to see what your priorities are. For event shooting, some people like myself will find it excellent and for narrative shooting some people will consider it a waste of money.
