I own the pd150, and the lowlight on it is excellant.
im wondering if anyone has seen side by side comparisons or has used these two cams and if so, does the 100b lowlight equal the 150?
this is important factor on my possible purchase of the 100b. ive heard its close but not as good.
input welcome

I'm not 100% sure but I think I remember reading that the DVX in 60i mode is similar to the PD150 in low light performance though in 24p mode, since it loses a stop of sensitivity, obviously it won't be as good in that mode.

I tested the PD170 vs the DVX100A last spring. My personal opinion on this is although the PD170 was somewhat better in low-light, were the DVX100A was noisier, the advantage stops there. Sony does some pretty fancy DSP calculations to reduce the noise, but that has a price; the image is slightly softer then the DVX100A under the same conditions.

Now PD150 vs DVX100B, I'd speculate that the 100B would be on par or probably better. As the PD150 is less sensitive then the PD170, and the 100B is quieter then the 100A. Keep in mind that you have much better control over the image (color, blacks, knee, etc.) on the DVX then you would on the Sony PD series.

But Seong is right, those tests are true at 60i. As soon as you do 24p, you loose about a stop.
