Lowest Price on DVX???

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

$3488 out the door. This includes the $100 dvxuser discount and CA reduced tax with the tele/post production exemption form

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

I HAVE CALLED PANASONIC ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AUTHORIZED AND NOT AUTHORIZED. THEY INFORMED ME IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE BUYING THE U.S. MODEL IN BRAND NEW PACKAGING AND THAT YOU RECIEVE A PRINTED RECIEPT NOT HAND WRITTEN AND THEY WILL HONOR THE WARRANTY. THERE IS A COMPANY BUYDIG.COM WHICH SELLS THE DVX FOR 3199.00 WITH FREE SHIPPING AND NO SALES TAX. YOU CAN ADD A MACK 4 YEAR WARRANTY FOR 249.00 AND STILL BE LESS THAN MOST PLACES.
GOOD LUCK

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

Getting a good deal is important, but service and reliability of a store is important as well. Make sure whomever you are buying from is trustworthy or they will be like a used car dealer--nice until you walk off the lot and then you are on your own.

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

I also had a good experience with buydig 2 days ago. Ordered a canon rebel camera and had it the next day. I was skeptical about the authorized or non-authorized business, but the box and paperwork on the canon was all legit.

Brian,

I am not sure who you talked to at Panasonic, but it most definitely makes a difference where you buy the camera, if you buy from an authorized dealer, you are assured of an US warranty. Yes, some dealers will sell to other dealers and you will find that some unauthorized dealers will have authorized product and some of them will bait you in with a low price and sell you warranties and power supplies.

Most importantly you should be able to determine if it is a US model by virtue of the inclusion of the Magic Bullet for Editors Software in every US Warrrantied unit. If it does not have it, you do not have a US warranty. This makes it much easier for customers to figure it out before they buy.

The service centers will be checking for valid US serial numbers and models.

Hope that helps,

Jan

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

Profeelvideo.com is selling it for $3165.95. It's very highly rated according to epinions.com. It also claims that it's backed up by full Panasonic 1 year warranty and its own 10 day return for new item policy. And guess what, it also includes Magic Bullet. So, it's seem they're a pretty safe bet...right???

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

Profeel is not an authorized dealer. Perhaps they're buying cameras under-the-table from an authorized dealer and then reselling them? If so, and it does include the Magic Bullet, it may have a US warranty... but if you buy from an authorized dealer you know for a fact you're getting all the accessories, plus the warranty. Un-authorized dealers are more along the lines of used-car dealers, they buy the product and then it's basically theirs to sell however they want. Some pull all the accessories out of the box and charge separately for them.

So, you can take your chances with an unauthorized dealer, to save (what is it... you're talking about less than 4%, right?) Be sure to factor in shipping costs, too. ProMax sells it at $3359, and their shipping is only like $17 to $30 anywhere in the US.

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

I would *NOT* buy from Royal Camera. I called to ask them about their warranty on the item. There is none. No overseas, US or Royal Camera warranty.

Not only this but their customer service was horrible and horribly rude. When I told the guy I had a few questions about the item, he didnt say anything at all. He didnt offer explaining anything at all either.

its a f'ing joke.

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

btw taken from another site selling an AGDVX100A for $1,900

sorry about the caps, this was a review posted about the store by someone else. Just thought it was interesting considering it mentions Royal Camera.

I actually called these guys myself also. Customer Service was not that great, more rude people. Then the guy told me that the camera has a 90day warranty, however you could purchase a 1year warranty for $30. He said it comes with everything including the software.

""******BUYERS BE AWARE***** ALL OF THE GOOD RATINGS ARE FROM THE SELLER AND NOT FROM THE ACTUAL BUYERS. THIS VENDOR IS AMONG THE MANY BROOKLYN SCAM ARTISTS. THEY ADVERTISE PRODUCT AT VERY LOW PRICE THEN SELL YOU NON-US PRODUCT WITH NO KNOWLEDGE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. IF THE PRICE IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, YOU ARE RIGHT. THERE IS NO WAY I WILL DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE EVER AGAIN. CHECK FOR THEIR "REAL" REPUTATION AT RESELLERRATINGS. COM BTW, HERE ARE FEW OTHER CROOKS THAT YOU NEED TO AVOID------ ROYAL CAMERA - A&M PHOTOWORLD - STARLIGHT CAMERA - 5STAR ELECTRONICS - US1 CAMERA - PRICEIT 4 LESS - BILLBI - DIGITAL LIQUIDATORS - BROADWAY PHOTO - EXPRESS CAMERAS - I'VE CHECKED ALL OF THEIR RATINGS FROM RESELLERRATINGS.COM AND ALSO FROM BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU (BBB.COM) AND THE RESULT IS HORRIBLE!! YOU SHOULD NOT BE A VICTIM IN THEIR BAIT & SWITCH TACTICS. "

My feeling is that you cannot get just the camera, you will have to buy something else in order for them to get the price up over their cost. I have a copy of an invoice from a customer that purchased from them and the total of their purchase was $3849. So just be careful if you buy here and make sure that it has the Magic Bullet in the box sticker on the outside of your box.

Best regards,

Jan

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

I have recieved my DVX100A from buydig.com. Included was the Magic Bullet Software, all accessories, and Panasonic 1 year warranty. I didn't pay any taxes and the shipping was free if you wanted ground, I was wanting my camera so I paid $29.00 for Second Day Air. My camera was delivered on time and I was never asked to buy anything else. The Camera was packaged well and I love it. My total cost was $3477.99 out the door, and that included a 4 year warranty from Mack. Buydig.com is not an authorized Panasonic dealer, but I saved near $500.00 and have no complaints. look up thier ratings on the internet they have a very positive feedback.

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

..uh, im not sure where your getting the savings of 500.00 from.. the cam is always at about the price you got it at.. even at B+H

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=305960&is=REG

I assume EVS would have probably been even better than what you paid.

heres the normal price:
http://www.evsonline.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=AGDVX100A

not including any DVX user or other form of discount
but DOES include coming from an exellent authorized dealer.
:-/

Re: Lowest Price on DVX???

The price I paid includes the 4 year Mack warranty, and shipping there was no sales tax. EVS is that price before tax, a 4 year warranty, and shipping charges if any. CA tax rate is 7.75% so that is where the savings come from. Im not saying EVS is not a good company because they are. But, some of us could use the extra cash. You have to factor in the warranty and the tax and the shipping. =Total Cost.

Thanks
