Lower quality 720p??

Hey guys,

I'm just gonna throw a questoin out ther, which I think I already know the answer to.

Is there any way to record at 720p, but at a slightly lower quality so I can fit a little more time onto my cards.

I have a job coming up where I'm going to be filming a show, with each half just over an hour. I have 2x 16G cards, which gives me around 47 mins in normal 720p, and as I'm going to be on my own, it'll be almost impossible to dump cards as I'm going along.

I'm sure i'd have heard about such a setting if it exsisted, but hey - you never know. !!

cheers

Shoot DV (as DVCpro 25 Letterboxed) to P2 card seeing as you are prepared to take a bit of quality hit anyway.

(Guess your choice depends on the final screen format you require.)

Thanks shooter, but I was really after seeing if there was a way to drop a little (I can dump off the first half during the interval) in 720p. I didn't really want to go down to DV.

I've just realised though (strangely) that I can actually get about 68 mins. So mayyyybe I can just squeeze it in - gonna be tight though!!

thanks for replying all the same.

720 pn will take less space. ,24p also takes less space. but not much. beware of long shots over 4gbs they will come up (spanned frames) must be split up to ingest. i was unaware of this till it happened from a heli shoot with big long shots. might take more time to dump than you think.
