low light situation

I just got my HVX. Jee, what a nice tool. It is beautiful.
I just shoot some tungsten light. I had my dvx next it to compare and I discovered that the dvx with the same settings (shutter, iris, ND and ) could handle the low light situation much better. If I put the HVX at shutter 15 or +9 db, than I had the same amount of light as the dvx under normal circumstances.
What am I doing wrong or is it just as it is.

Welcome to the world of HVX. Please leave your low wattage lights at the door.
The HVX loves it some light. Give it all you got.

The HVX, at equivalent settings, is about 1 stop slower (meaning, it requires twice as much light) as the DVX does. In interlaced or 720/60P mode, it requires more still. That's the drawback for getting high-def at the 1/3" chip size.

thanks barry. For ENG thats a little bit of a problem. Do you think that +6 db will do it? Will in your opinion the noise acceptable for broadcast.
