Hi, I'm in the middle of attempting to use a brand new GH2 on a very important shoot this evening and so far, I'm not getting the image performance of an old Sony VX2000 in DV25. Something must be very wrong. This camera has been a total failure for me, and tonight is dire. Even if the menus aren't intuitive the quirks I'm experiencing are endless.
Can someone give me sure fire low light recipes?
I have tried this sites sticky post offering basic settings, and while nice as a resource, they didn't work for me.
I'm using the smaller stock Panasonic lens, for documentary shooting of a live concert documentary footage in a club.
I have exhausted all the variables. Shot iA, shot manual, shot Cinema Mode, shot Manual Mode, tried the various picture settings, and gone in circles. It's been a zoo out in the field. The screen starts going black when I hit the display button (not the LVF/LCD switch), and thats just one of a laundry list of weird things. I just want to set it up and not futz with it.
I simply need a crisp HD quality image. I need the ability to change f stops, and stay in focus without lots of searching. ISO can't be pure mud. Shutter must appear smooth, without strobing. Exposure needs to hold so if it looks good in preview, it's not drastically dark or lighter when I hit record.
If anyone can help, it would be a life saver. I know there are GH2 users making this camera work, on a professional level. Help! Please!
