Low light setting for interview / conference

I have been shooting a lot of interviews and conferences lately where I have not been able to bring my own lights, and am struggling to find setting that really work well, most places I go to are just using florescent overhead lights. I have been shooting 60i with no gain and the standard F2 scene file. I have messed around a few time with the settings in the scene files menu, but I can't get it just right. Any suggestions on camera settings, or another post that is related would be some great help.

thanks,

you could use a slower shutter speed, this will significantly boost your low light capability, here in PAL land there is a 1/25 speed that fits alongside 50i or 25p, so I'm guessing the NTSC version will have A 1/30 setting that'll work with 30p or 60i. The trade off is that slow shutter speeds will turn your 60i footage into a kind of pseudo progressive scan type affair with slightly more motion blur than normal (but this shouldn't be a problem if you're just shooting static interviews)
In low light situations i have found these to be the best settings ; 25p, 1/25 shutter, 3db of gain, cinelike D, pedestal set between 0 and +2, with a bit of detail coring to counter the noise introduced by the gain and cinelike d setting.
