Low Light Noise Solution?

DVX is 410,000 IIRC... DVX will get you about 1 stop more performance than the HVX when shooting 24p.
Hmm, 34% more resolution and that's the jump from sd to hd...

I wonder why hvx is full stop slower than dvx?
By calculating pixel size, hvx has 25% smaller pixels, so that would mean only half stop less sensivity. Is ccd technology development going backwards? Or just much cheaper ccd's available with lesser sensivity?

I shot my first short with the HVX during the past week. I actually reshot my entire first day of footage because it was too dark and noisy. I found that I needed to add a lot more light to each of my scenes. But once I did that, I found the performance excellent. You can see a sample of the reshoot here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=50499

On my camera, it looked properly exposed through the viewfinder and lcd.
When I looked at the recorded footage, it was too dark.

Since then, I just turned down the brightness of the lcd, and viewfinder to match the footage I got. I also use the zebras to ensure that I don't over expose.

For me, the display(s) were brighter than the footage, and now they match.

I had to do the same thing.
