Low light in 24p/2pa??

Everytime I switch the DVX100A into 24p or 24pa, very little light comes in. Why is that? How can I fix it? I tried messing around with the settings but no luck. Help? thanks!

If you switch from 60i, you will loose a stop of light when going to 24p/pA.

Also make sure your shutter is at 1/48. If you have the shutter engaged, it remembers previous settings so if it was set at 1/250th in 24p and 1/60th in 60i and you change it, there will be a huge difference (like 3 stops).
