Hi, I made a mistake and rented the HMC40 for an indoor shoot as a b camera to my GH1. I am now stuck with trying to get a properly exposed image without too much degradation. There will be overhead fluorescent lighting as in a normal office building but it might be turned down for a slide show.
I have the shutter set to 1/24 (even though I will be shooting under fluorescent , a calculated risk), 24p, and Cine-V gamma.
Should I use high gamma for more brightness in the dark areas?
If I go higher than 12db of gain will something like noise removal software be able to reasonably fix the image?
They are not expecting broadcast quality footage, they usually have a guy holding a camcorder, so whatever I do it will be better than that. But I want to get the best quality I can and still have a bright enough image to cut with my GH1 footage.
They are not really open to me setting up lights unfortunately. I am going to strongly recommend at the very least 1 soft box sitting low and angled up to give some highlighting.
