Just wondering what the DIFFERENCES would be regarding shadow/dark areas in these particular situations, especially concerning NOISE:
1) Actual low-light situation, camera iris completely open, 1/48 shutter (e.g., dark room lit only by one desk lamp, 60W).
2) Brightly lit, but iris stopped down, 1/48 shutter, thus, creating dark areas (e.g., room lit with practicals and plenty of cine lights, enough for, say, 1/48 @ f/11, but stopped down to f/4 or lower)
3) Brightly lit room with Master Ped way down to crush darker areas.
It seems like noise generally occurs when the camera is struggling to brighten darkness, beyond which the current setting can expose; however, is there much noise when you intentionally stop down in a bright scene and create darkness?
Hope this makes sense. Because people always advice to light a ton, but what if you want a low-light look?
