low light comparison needed

hi

I was wondering if anybody that has used a canon xl1 and now uses a hvx could talk about the differences in low light situations?

I would really apreciate this info, thanks.

The HVX is worse, I know. I have never compared side-by-side, but I don't use the HVX for indoors or night without added light anymore. I would guess maybe a stop... maybe someone else can give a more accurate measurement.

According to the article on DVInfo here, an XL1 has an ISO rating of about 160 to 200. An HVX is 320 depending on which gamma curve you're using. So the HVX should be noticeably more sensitive than an XL1.

Hmmmm. I am really baffled by that. I have used both cameras at night in my friends house with existing light and had to bring in extra light for the HVX... but maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention to settings. I really can't believe the HVX is a stop faster than the XL1. If I still had one I'd do a side-by-side.
