low light = 24p or 30i

In low light settings (like a wedding where lights can't be set up), what settings does everyone go with? (30i or 24p, are adjustments made to any of the scene selection options in the camera?)
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: low light = 24p or 30i

YOu will get better low light performance in 60i than in any progressive setting.

Re: low light = 24p or 30i

Actually, the extra noise in 24p video is due FAR more to the cine-like matrix than it is to progressive scan.

For ultra-ultra low light shooting, 60i does have a small advantage, but 24p with cine_gamma (not cine_gamma_d), detail coring at +7, and the normal matrix setting will look pretty fantastic in low light. I will post examples later if I get around to it.

Ok I did do some testing and I do believe with Policar's settings (plus bumping the gain up to 6 or so) the quality is at least as good as 60i in low light.
If anyone else has used different settings please let us know.
