I want to get 2-3 small cameras to record a live indie wrestling event locally with. I need something fairly low budget, but that would yield good results. Any suggestions?
I think it depends upon how much low light ability you need in the cameras to make the best choice. Something lime the AC-90 would be a decent choice but it is not the low light king if you know what I mean.
How low is your budget and what are your delivery needs? HD? SD?
I filmed a wrestling event recently in a pretty dimly lit building, which is probably what you'll be doing if it's not a huge Federation.
I use an HMC150 and a GH2. Both worked well. The GH2 was locked off. HMC was roaming around the ring. Had to use the gain but it was still servicable. The other cameras they supplied were these cheap handy cams that struggled quite a bit. The GH2 looked the best by far but pulling focus is tough with the action.
It's really hard to beat the GH2 in the low-end price range. The only cameras that compare are from Blackmagic but cost more and have a lot of trouble working as event cameras.
