LOUD NOISE

A few days ago I put a battery on my camera and heard this obnoxious sound (sounded like gears grinding). It stopped after about 2 seconds. Then I turned the camera on and the noise started again. This time for about 10 seconds. Naturally, I turned the camera off. I turned the camera on again and the same thing happened. The next day I tried it again.....the noise began again and this time it never stopped.
Anyone else experience this problem or heard anything of this nature? I've only had my 100A since April......This is obviously a huge problem.

Oh, no, that's PERFECTLY normal . . . . :o

Don't turn it on again.  Get it checked out immediately.

Is he talking about the cylinders or is it the "click clunk" thread?
If you feel the camera is making gear-like noise you can not allow check with your store or panasonic. They have to tell you something?
