Lost frames

I'm shooting in 1080p30 with the HVX to the Firestore FS-100. Starting recently I'm experiencing lost frames. The footage behaves as if 'pause' was pressed when watching it on the computer. If a person is walking and they are on the right it would appear as if they all of a sudden are on the left within a fraction of a second. I hope you get the idea...

We use multiple FS-100s and it happens on the footage of all of them. Just started recently.. no change in workflows, firmware, cables etc..FS-100 is connected with the belt clip.

I'm sure that during the time the footage was actually shot the cable was physically well connected to both the camera and the FS.

We're wondering what it could be.... fs-100 overheating issues? camera issues? firewire cable? firewire port connection?

We are shooting in pretty hot locations 105F+!

Since it is a symptom that just appeared and it is affecting multiple units, I would suspect that the high heat has something to do with it.

I would also check the connection between the camera and FS-100. The plugs or cable connectors might have been deformed by repeated stress -- the puny four-pin connector on the camera is definitely a weak point.

Yeah we'll test the cables tomorrow... we're thinking connector, cable, fs or camera. It's pretty tough not to shoot in under 105F at the moment. The little things get quick very fast and the belt attachement doesn't do air circulation in the back any good.

As far as alternate options to the FS, still waiting on the 32GB P2 or we can always throw in a 32-64GB SSD in the FS-100 :eek
