Lost everything

Terrible terrible. I drive a Chevy Silverado and it got broke into and about 6k worth of gear got stolen. The cop walked right up to the door and showed me the center punched out of my lock... he says, "Yup this happens ALL the time."

Low Life people. Oh well, as a society we allow them to exist so we gotta deal with them I guess. Sorry for your loss.

wow 6k...that sucks. Did insurance cover anything?

Anyway, I've been trying to search on ebay, craigslist, and calling local pawn shops but nothing...

Yea they got my lenses, they werent that great though. Just a nikon 50mm 1.4 ais and a tamron 18-200. But still, its money. lol

I had just bought a new mini indislider and a lcdvf and that was my first day using it! lame...

But yea, looks like I will probably have to buy everything all over again unless they were stupid enough to not look into the trunk lol...

yeah never leave it unattended. i spent 9 months hauling my gear around nicaragua and it was always with me, one way or another my camera bag strap was always attached to a limb. don't stress about it....a lot of good will come out of this seemingly shitty situation and open doors for you in more ways than you can imagine.

Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd share that on Saturday I got my 2000 2dr Silver Honda Civic stolen!
It had my gps and my new canon 7d in it with all my other film equipment!

but it doesn't end there, I don't get any insurance money for any of it. The deductible is too high so it wouldn't be worth it.

So im sad, I have to start all over with my film equipment.

I do have an old HV30 and a nice shotgun mic. But nothing compared to the 7D.

UGH sadness.

This happened at Cerritos Mall in California btw.

That absolutely sucks about your loss!

I cannot help but feel unsurprised that the issue with insurance considering this story is from America... I follow the whole Healthcare debate a bit too much sometimes considering I'm British.

Point is: I hope you can re-build a better film equipment thing now!
