Lost and Found

Did this project for Random House as a promo piece for use on Amazon.com. It was very quickly put together, with just me, the author, a DVX, and a wireless mic. And because it was a kind of secretive thing, where I had to stay semi-hidden, it's also a little heavy with the shakes. But still, I think it turned out fun, and explains the project in an interesting way, which were the two goals for the day.

I really enjoyed this. Not only is the idea being films cool, but the film itself was really cool. I wasn't bothered by excessive shake, what shake I did see felt natural and seemed to belong.

Good Job

Skillfully done by author and auteur alike. How much did your end-client get involved in your edit decisions?

It feels perfectly paced - you've told a neat and clean story without any hint of lingering, or silly introspection. Part of it is leaving the books contents entirely absent from the exercise - makes me even more curious to read it! We see enough of the writer through your competent framing to add a little further intrigue - "what does this down-to-earth, attractive young woman have to say?"

Another great DVX project!

Hey, thanks much. Glad you guys liked it. It was such a fast project, that I didn't get to spend too much time worrying about it and fussing over tiny details, so I'm glad it went well.

As for working with the publisher, they just let me alone and were thrilled with the outcome. I think they're thrilled to have something, other than the standard readings and signings and posters, to help promote the book.

And as for the book itself, I highly recommended it. Very smart and clever, in that kind of "I can't believe someone is this cool" kind of way. It comes out on the 25th, and should be a big hit, so pick up a copy if you get a chance.

That was GREAT! It was alot of fun and perfect for its intention. The editing, the shots, the music, it all flowed very well. It makes me want to read the book. Good job.

Excellent. It was fun and cool and says a lot about the author, which in turn makes me want to read the book. Nice work!
