Loss of audio for one P2 clip only

Hey Everyone,
I have discovered with great distress that one of the clips taken with my HVX200 is missing audio when imported into premiere or viewed via onlocation.

It was a 22minute clip of an interview so the audio missing is killing me, but next clip which was the same interview just after a short break, doing nothing but pressing stop/record does have audio, and so do the rest of the clips from that day. I've only had the camera for a couple shoots so far but all have been interviews and I followed the same process, watch the audio bars and listened via headphones during recording so I'm positive the audio was recorded and hopefully I can still find it somehow.

I have been able to find and manually sync up ~8minutes of the audio for the 22minute clip by importing the files in P2 folder content/audio separately and then painfully trail and error until I found it matching. There are other audio files that look about the right size to fill out that extra 14minutes but they all appear empty when I try to play.

Could the mxf be corrupt or just have it linkage broken? Is there any chance of recovering the lost/unsync'd audio?

Thanks!
Clint

The associated audio files will all have the same name as the video file, plus a suffix. Meaning: if your video file was 0113XR.MXF, then the appropriate audio files are going to be 0113XR00.MXF, 0113XR01.MXF, 0113XR02.MXF, and 0113XR03.MXF. 00 = the left audio channel, 01 = the right audio channel, 02 = channel 3 (if you recorded it) and 03 = channel 4 (if you recorded it).

Thanks Barry it makes a lot of sense now, the long clip was split over 5 files and only the last two have corresponding audio files.

I was able to find 3 more of the audio files from the third last video file using a data recovery program, but they won't open in anything, do you know of any way to fix them or recover at least some of their content?
