So I came to a realization this afternoon. Every day at work, our lead in to the 5pm news is two episodes of Judge Judy. Since I'm in the studio, it's usually on in the air monitors.
I have never seen a re-run.
I'm not saying there isn't any, I've just never seen them. This caused me to do a little math. There are two cases an episode, two episodes a day. 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
There are two parties to every case. That means there are a minimum of 4 people an episode. That makes 8 people a day. 40 people a week. 2080 people a year. BUT, usually there are more than two people per case, as the parties are often made up of 1 v. 2, 2 v. 3, 2 v. 2, etc. Let's just say the average is 2 v. 2... that means there are 4160 people a year.
This means that realistically, there are between 4,000 and 4,500 people who every year are willing to go on Judge Judy and make themselves look like absolute buffoons while she berates them.
Food for thought.
