Losing Alice is an Israeli TV series on Apple TV+, and apparently quite popular with the audiences.
Sadly for me, it really didn’t work. I watched 2 episodes, increasingly sceptical, and about 3/4 into the 3rd episode, I bailed. The fundamental problem was that there was a lot of buildup with no returns on the investment. Promises, promises, promises, and at some point you get the feeling that those promises are empty.
Then, the 3rd episode was straight up boring - certain tricks that were used in the previous episodes just no longer worked at all, and the scenes were long-long-long with no payoff. Particularly egregious was an interminably long scene in ep. 3 at a dance studio - a boring scene that simply would not end, a scene that gave us nothing, and had zero feeling of plausibility, straining at “strangeness”, but delivering third rate Lynchian moods. It kept getting worse, with a highly implausible sequence on a boat, and then teeth grindingly boring drunk driving scene capped off with extremely implausible interactions between characters that violated what our insticts were about them - out of character for the main participant.
And none of the characters felt in any way interesting or someone you’d want to spend time with or watch. A lot of hot air, badly done scenes - many scenes too long by half or more.
Perhaps other can enjoy, but I cannot recommend this. YMMV.
