Los Angeles ?

Why dont we try and put totgether a group local here in LA that us LA people can attend frequently. PS is about 3 hours which would be 6 total. Not really a single day meeting thing.

Just a thought
 
I think the ShortFest in Palm Springs would be a hoot. I know folks from L.A. typically are afraid to venture out of L.A. and to them a day trip is driving all the way to "the valley." LOL!!

Even with the current gas prices it's good to get out and see a little bit more than your own local part of Smogville once and awhile, even if it means you have to car pool. Consider it an adventure... and be sure to bring your camera.

There's lots to see and do in Palm Springs and its surrounds. You can count me in.
 
I think I'm thinking more then a one time deal. More likely monthly or bi weekly for us here in LA. A 1 time deal in PS is cool however not so good for a more frequent meeting place for the LA county folks.
 
Someplace more centrally located would be better for a monthly deal. But how long has this thread been going? And there still hasn't even been ONE meeting. The best option would be a set time and place and those that could make it would come, if you couldn't make it, then there's always next month.

Also, Jarred Land, are you available that day/time? It would be awesome if you could moderate, since you've really rocked this website!!, and have no clue how this meeting should transpire!! and if not available for that time, then is there a nearby time that you are?

If there are way more than 10 people, does anyone else have a bigger place close by?

I'd love to do it but i am extremely overwieght 600+ pounds, so I will probably need to take up two, possible three seats.
 
lol, no worries man, I can accomodate. It may be too short notice, so let me know if next weekend would be better - anyone. Consider this a preliminary meeting for meetings to come... I just want to kick start this thing, and maybe if a few of us meet, we can overcome the feelings of uncertainty in people we've never met in person. Then a regular meeting place may come from that, it's worth a shot.

I'm interested as well and can do it just about any weekend, but I'm a DVX 100B owner and have no allergies to the HVX but my main concern is learning about the experience of others who also own the DVX.
 
Do any of you good people have a camera other than the DVX? I am wanting to test the Snod35 on some other cams for the DIY DVD. I mainly just want to ensure that the camera can get focus on the GG and maybe get 10-20 seconds of footage. We could do it at the DVXuser meeting or a different date as well. EDIT: ruester, I'm in for Saturday (19th). Can I put the Snod35 on your HVX?
