Loose mount

This is a very good question as I have read than when you put a heavy lens on the camera without support, that can be an issue.
This may sound like an obvious question, but, have you tried tightening the screws?

I have Rob, I am using a Zacuto "y" support. I have notice that when I focus or zoom the lens does a very slight counter clock wise or clock wise turn while in the mount.

I apologize for not clarifying. It is the lens mount. I noticed on my Olympus 35-100 F2 w/ 4/3 to M4/3 adapter. I lens focus ring is tight, when I focused with it the entire lens moved at the camera mount. Tried several other M4/3 lenses ie. 7-14mm did the same thing.
I did check the screws all were tight, is it possible the mount flanges are wearing out. I have been averages at least 75 shoot days a year with this camera with several dozen lens changes a day. Any thoughts? Worth sending off? Or a common occurance?

My 14-140 has acquired some slop over the past year... other lenses (even adapters) are tight. I don't imagine it's impossible with frequent changes.

All my lenses show a little bit of rotational play, whether they are used with adapters or native m4/3. FWIW I just pulled out my 7D and it's lens shows a similar slight bit of rotational play. Maybe it has to do with the lens locking mechanisms, which are simply a pin that engages a slot in the lens

Thanks for fast response everyone. I contacted AbelCine and I am going to have them check it out next week. I personally think it is a worn out mount, we'll see. I'll post my results when I get the camera back. I've checked as much as I could for any factory information on the amount of play(if any) on the mount, couldn't find any.
Anyway I am going to have them update to the 1080/60p firmware while it's up there.

For what it's worth I have found that both the M4/3 mount and the Canon EF mounts have a little rotational play, AKA slop inherent in their design. As a matter of fact, I have had to go through a number of lens mount adapters to find ones milled with higher tolerances to avoid any slop. I hate to say it, but I bet they will find the lens mount to be within specs.

Good Luck with your issue!

Dave

All my lenses have a bit of slop on the AF100, & GH2.

4/3 lenses are the worst as there's slop between the lens, & adapter, plus slop between the adapter, & body. The same issue happens when I mount EOS, or Nikkor, lenses via an adapter.

I've seen this behavior on three AFs, & one GH2. Also a variety of Canon dSLRs. I believe it's just the nature of the beast with still lenses.
