Loose front problem, beginning to panic.

I have a brand new DVX100ae.  I had it for about a week.  I finally got the anamorphic adapter and put it on.  With it on, I found that the front end of the camera is loose.  It twists aback and forth about 1/16 of an inch.  I took the anamophic lens off and did further inspection and found that it is loose all the way back at the zoom ring.
I have looked for hours on different DVX sights and nobody seems to have had this problem, which has me really worried.  Does anyone know if there is a way to tighten it, or is this an ignorable problem.  Any advice would be good.  I am beginning to panic; maybe I have a defective model.

I would appreciate any and all help.
Thanks

Re: Loose front problem, beginning to panic.

not really..depends on what you determine "loose" as being. Every dvx, new and old has some play if you wiggle the lens back and forth.

Re: Loose front problem, beginning to panic.

Thanks, I am going to go to a rental shop and compare. I guess I expected it to be perfectly tight, if the one at the rental place is the same, I will ignore the problem.

Re: Loose front problem, beginning to panic.

yochua, i found the same problem on my camera, and i actually too, found it when i used an anamorphic adaptor (i guess that this is when you start to shake up the front.. )
and i also got panick.. but i guess that it's all matter of how loose is it at the end...
two suggestions:
1. see if its actually affect the picture. i found that it didnt affect mine, so i just forgot about it.

2. dont push it too hard, no matter how panicked you are and want to see again and again how bad is it..

hope it helps

Hmmm... mine makes a small click or clunk noise when I tip it forward and backward. I'm not too terribly worried about it, it doesn't seem like a problem. Anyone know what it is?

Oh Oh sounds Bad ;
Just kidding! That is the standard DVX100 noise. It goes away as soon as you power up! Please read past posts. You got off easy this time. We usually torment people a lot longer. ;D

Re: Loose front problem, beginning to panic.

BASTARD! I read the first line and was about to cry. Thanks for not tormenting me though. lol

I too have noticed this "loose Lens" issue. I was wondering if there is a way to tighten it up, or send in for a techie to replace bushings or whatever.....

I researched a similar question not too long ago. It seems that the anamorphic adapter tends to have some play in it. It doesn't seem to affect my focus.
