Looking to Start in Video.

Hey everyone I have been a Nikon shooter for 4 years. I really want to dab in video a bit and am unsure where to start.

i love the idea of having DOF in videos but I really just want to record short clips liek the ones seen here: Examples.

I started with a Nikon D50 as an entry into photography to see if I would like it and I would like to do something similar with video. Start small to see if I like it.

I have been eyeing canons consumer flash video models as well. I would really like just 720 with 24p.

Thanks and I hope this is enough info!

for short clips like that, the D90 will be very suitable for your type of work. Avoid too much jagged movement as the camera produces jello-like results due to the clock speed of the chip being somewhat slow, resulting in skewing of the image from quick movements. But it will give you nice dynamic range and shallow depth of field. Not to mention that it is also an excellent still camera at 12 mp and produces video as a plus. Hope that helps!

I guess what I am looking for is I know all about the D90 / D5000 but is there a consumer camcorder that would be recommended at a similar price?
