Looking to purchase HMC150, AVCHD worries me.

Hey guys. I want an HMC150 for the options, the colors it puts out, and well, basically everything about it. Except one thing...AVCHD. I'm not sure how to handle it with the computer setup I have.

I have a 20" intel iMac with 4gb ram, 2.66ghz processor. Seems like enough, but is it? I run final cut express 4.0 which supposedly supports AVCHD. I made a thread recently asking about it and was told it would change the file to AIC. However i downloaded some raw HMC footy, .mts files, and can't manage to get it to work.

Can somebody give me a tip on how I am to manage this? I'm very interested in the HMC150, but this aspect of it bothers me.
 
Final Cut Express or Pro as well as iMovie need the full file structure as it was on the Card from the Private folder. The .MTS file is not enough.
