Looking to buy a DVX 100 - SOON

I keep finding on the internet DVX100A versus DVX100C I cant seem to get a good answer as to the difference between the two.

Is it just a new model versus an old model??

OR Is it more like pal versus NTSC model???

I gotta get one soon I got the fever plus a lot of jobs coming up in May ::)

Also has anyone had any experience with pcvideoonline.com they have an atractive price of $2737. for the DVX100C model.

Half of the posts on this forum seem to concern themselves with who has what price on which model.

People need to read what TOPIC they're in when posting; not only only is it unrelated to the TOPIC but their POST might not get the attention their seeking in a TOPIC unrelated...  :-/

It's because there's no forum called "Looking to buy a DVX? Post here!" This is the DVX news/ general questions forum, whether that was the original intent or not. I'm cool with it.

No, but there is a forum called "Marketplace" which could essentially cover buying and selling.  
;)

'I'm cool with it'... just kind of a pain wading through all the requests for "who has the cheapest price?" all the time.

Yeah, but we were all there at one point- finally enough money to spend but a million questions to ask before we take the plunge...

Come to think of it, I'm still at that point. Crap.

You're right. Marketplace seems like a more apt place for buying questions/suggestions besides a place for people to buy and sell their equipment.

But thanks to this site, I'm a happy DVX owner. Thanks also to your advice and recommendation of Rush at EVS.

Um, maybe its our evangelical right to try to convert more potential buyers to our, um, cause. :D

Yes there ARE diffecrences between 100 and 100a BUT

the differences are rather SUBTLE....They are kind of IMPROVEMENTS in the new model, which

1: either make it easier to operate ur cam, ....such as additonal user button, raised edge aroundthe F-settings and volume control buttons etc etc etc....there are many...and/or

2: improve ur picture quality....by, for instnce lessening glare, better color rendition and more gamma options (very useful to my mind).etc etc

What to do?  

I think these improvements matter, if u are really in a video related Business...as the new cam does gives u more control over ur end-product....and about meeting the expectations of  ur customers....

However if that is not the case, I THINK the so called IMPROVEMENTS may remain merely unutilised, thoretical possibilities for the user...most probably..making perhaps dvx100 as the better choice. Cost matters.
