Looking to buy A DVC80

Hi all,
I am looking to buy my first 3 CCD camera. I have taken a look at the top 3 camera company's (Panasonic, Sony and Canon) and decided on the Panasonic DVC80. So if any one has one and is thinking about selling please let me know.

I know this is the DVXUSER's board but I thought I would give it a chance.

Thanks in advance

P.S.
if any one has a DVX100 I may be interested, if the price is right.
Thanks
Michael

Nice name......

Anyways, I think you could probally find a DVX100 used around now for pretty close to what the DVC80 new is going for.

Re: Looking to buy A DVC80

Thanks for the response
Yup that is my real name, I met Michael Moore and he is a really nice guy even though he will not change his name. The hardest thing about getting started in the Movie industry is making a name for your self. My problem is getting my own name... LOL
I was thinking about the difference in cost between the DVC and the DVX and was thinking that a used DVC80 was going to cheap but with the new DVX100a people may be wanting to unload there old DVX100's. I am just starting my first big project and do not have a ton of cash so I guess I cant be to picky.
thanks
Michael

Re: Looking to buy A DVC80

I just bought a second DVX with 9 hours on the heads for $2450.   New DVC80s go for about $2200, I guess.

Lots of used DVXs selling for about $2500 on eBay.

Re: Looking to buy A DVC80

Seems that one should be very careful about bidding for a camcorder on ebay. Lot of fraud there, no telling if you will get a gray market camera or not. Have been watching the auctions for a while on the AG-DVX100, fairly frequently listings will be removed due to system issues. Hmm...

Re: Looking to buy A DVC80

Ya, there is no way I am sending someone $2500.00 US through ebay. I have had way to many friends that have been burned through ebay.

Re: Looking to buy A DVC80

The point isn't that they're on eBay; the point is the price. There is no better barometer for the true market value of something than what it consistently sells for on eBay. The sellers may be scammers, but that many bidders aren't.

If used DVXs are consistently going for $2500, then that's the fair market value of one.

The point is, for $300 more than a DVC80, you can have all the functionality of the black camera plus everything that makes the DVX revolutionary.

Re: Looking to buy A DVC80

Besides, I would be just as wary buying something of that price from here or any blind forum.
