Looking to buy a cheap DVX

Hello,

I'm currently selling my consumer HDV camera to get a DVX.
I'm probably gonna get around $1000 for it and I don't have much more to invest on the DVX.


Can you get any decent DVXs for that price range (around $1300, maybe)?
At how many head hours should I draw the line?
Should I do craigslist, eBay, forums?

For $1300 there's no way you'll be able to get a DVX. The original version usually goes for $1600-1700 still. Usually anything more than 500 hours is too much.

I got a DVX100a for $1500 with 3 batteries and a bag, perfect condition. This was only a few months ago and mine came with 300 hours on it, which I hear isn't bad at all. I think its possible for you to find one at your price range, just watch out for imperfections. Good luck finding one.
 
I got a DVX for a bit less than $1500, but it was without any accesories and it took me a long time to find it for that price. Your best bet will probably be here, as the cameras were going for $1600 - $1700 on ebay. Good luck!
