I just got the 42,5 f1.7 with ois it's a fractrion of the cost of the nokton yet is a very good lens for it's price, the Nokton is a better lens no doubt but if you are shooting video the cheaper Panasonic is worth considering. It has become my favourite lens to shoot handheld with now and the IQ is great.
It has a fly by wire focussing system but I find it good enough to manually focus if needed, the autofocus also quickly locks on but starts to guess when it gets too dark. The ois is very good when you hold the camera still for stationary shots as it filters out any jitter effectively, only when you start to pan or tilt around you start to see the limitations, it has the same "look" as any other native panasonic or olympus lens.
Thank you thats really good feedback on this lens. If I cant get a good deal on these lenses then thats the one I am going to get. I am starting to wonder if double the price is worth that 1.2 but that is alot of extra light from 1.7. I am shocked I havent been pmed on this, or maybe when people get the lens they don't sell it ... who knows.
