Looking to get a wireless lavalier to go nicely with an HVX-200. Wondering if there were any specific lavs out there that work well with.

Or any recommendations, brands, and price ranges would help.

Thanks a lot!

Since its an audio question, you'll find your best answers here...

..and how much do you want to spend ? Most popular wireless set up for this level of camera is the Sennheiser G2 wireless (around $500) and add a nice mic on it, ie Sanken COS-11 for around $300.

Next setup up is the Lectro system, starting at around $1300 for an older system, not counting mic itself.

Below the G2 youre in real consumer quality wireless and asking for problems, and probably not really covered in DVXuser. If in need of dual (or higher) channel stuff, ask in the audio forum.

PS. = Ive seen some good deals on audio over in the MarketPlace here...

Cheers!

Hello Chulo,

Many of our HVX200 clients have been going with the Sennhieser Evolution series.

Below is a link to the most popular ones.

duster has some good info there.. I highly and only recommend the Lectro. I have two of the older model 95s and they've worked flawlessly for me for over 5 years. I got them both used and they are rock solid. The sennheiser are nice.. but so cheap compared to the lectros... Clients drop these things and the sennheiser won't last at all... the lectros will keep on ticking so you do indeed get what you pay for. One of the best investments I've ever made so if you have the cash, don't skimp out and you won't be upset with the quality and build..

There's also another factor in that all the professional audio buys I know use those lectros and they are the industry standard. Just make sure to get nicer mikes than the ones that come with it.. They are crap that come i the case. You can pick up a nice mike for about 180 from treu audio and others... cheers

I've been really happy with my Sennhieser setup. Great price and great sound quality. I only use about once a month so if you will use it very heavily it would make sense to go with an even better one. Depends on your budget but I really have been happy with it.

Just curious...which version do you find most useful with the Sennheiser..ME4 CARDIOD or ME2 OMNI...?

I'd be just typically using the mic for either seated interviews or outdoor style interviews....

Am a bit new to the world of mics...so sorry if the answer is obvious!
