Hi everyone i was interested in finding a steadycam to use for my film. Ive seen some footage using the pegasus 2 and it looked amazing with the nice wide angle. Someone said it costs 300 dollars? Is this true? I would like to find one that is cheap. Are there any recources to point me in the right directon?

Thanks

I have the GH1 and the Glidecam 2000 pro. I've added a manfrotto baseplate and still the gh1 ith stock lens is "too light" - I just cant get it to fall from 90 degrees in 2-3 seconds. It does balance nicely but fails this one test.

That said it works very well regardless of this issue.

Thanks i hart i will check this out! Im afraid to ask how much it is. Do you have any test footage with it in action.

Thanks again!

Hmm, look like a good deal for ~$250.

couldnt you save that money and just make your own? I feel like I could replicate one fairly easily and get virtually the same output, but then again most of what I film is low risk and a few errors don't matter as much. Or am I totally missing something?

Hey jaw i prob would try to build my own but im so bsy with a 40hr job and on top of that since this is a horror movie im making all my own props and special effects. I wouldnt skimp on the camera gear though.

yea that is super understandable, must be stressful sometimes :badputer: and yea I know one should never skimp out on camera gear, but I am a student and I don't have any extra money to spend on the side items, but I do have access to a bunch of shop materials, so i guess it is just how I think about it.

in all seriousness, you are probably best off using a glidecam 2000, and they run about 250, dont know if this above or below your target budget but thats probably what is going to work best for you.

i trolled ebay for months and finally found a mind glidecam 1000 pro for just under $100

I love it, its basically the same as the 2000 but with a different bottom plate.

They are a bit tricky to balance but with more and more practice im starting to get the hang of it.
