Looking for the Elusive DIY remote

[waefre]

Hey Gang, I remember reading something on here one time about a homemade remote that plugs into the remote port and controls the zoom. At the time I wasn't interested but now its suddenly become very interesting and I can't find it anywhere. If anyone knows what I'm talking about or where to find it let me know, thanks.

Is there such a thing for the LANC? A cheap, easy DIY? Is it that simple for the LANC too?

Nope, LANC is a Serial protocal that's prety similar to RS-232 .. which is prety complicated.
