Looking for spare parts to my Varicam 27H

Mike Krumlauf

I've included a picture of one below.

I am looking for two things.. the first (as pictured) are the rubber protective caps for the SDI and Timecode plugs and the other im guessing either does not exist or i cant obtain..

..i am looking for touch up paint i can apply to the minor blemishes on the corners of the camera body and top of the handle grip to try to remove some of the missing paint on the body, would a hobby shop of some kind have this? Any ideas? I'm just someone who would like my camera in as pristine looking condition as possible, just a personal pref.

Thanks.

I would think a hobby shop would be the best bet for touch up paint. And get a bottle of Old English to wipe down the camera body now and then. It does wonders.

Those rubber port covers disappeared from every camera within the first week.

There is a Blick art supplies shop fairly close to my apartment here in downtown chicago.. do you think they'd have it? The only hobby shops i can think of near me are out where i grew up in the suburbs.

I was able to track down the protective caps for cheap! Now, about the touch up paint.. the varicam is not black in terms of a normal shade of black.. what color black is the HDC27 body exactly, its like this wacky purple blackish color..?

bump - nobody knows what color the varicams are painted as? It seems its the same color down the ENG line of cameras from Panasonic.. any help would be appreciated.

Major props to Mitch gross for recommending old English, just put it on my varicam and sdx900 and it did better than I thought it would!!! As for the handles, I've decided to just wrap them in leather grip tape like what you put on racket handles for tennis.
