Looking for simple EVF for rig use

I'm looking for a simple affordable EVF that has decent picture representation. 7Q out of the picture because I don't need THAT much out of my FS700, the internal codec does more than enough for me. Not looking for a EVF/recorder combo, what options do I have ?

If you want something similar to quality as the on board LCD / EVF combo you're unfortunately going to have to spend quite a bit. The cheapest working solution I found was the Cineroid retina EVF. It has SDI that is in my opinion a must with the FS700 since the HDMI output adds a 2-3 frame lag on top of the 2-3 frame lag the camera has even on it's own LCD.

I have a zacuto evf pro with hdmi ports, I usually just plug it into my external recorder or if I shoot native just plug it into the back of the camera. I'm thinking about selling it, PM me if you're interested. Thanks.

The resolution is sufficient for pulling an accurate focus.

Waveform monitors are really sweet (to me, almost indispensible). That might lead you to the Alphatron.

I also use the Alphatron. I owned and sold the Zacuto EVF, just wasn't a huge fan of it. It had some nice features but the SDI, Retina screen, and waveform monitors drew me toward the Alphatron. That was before the 7Q came out so a waveform monitor in your EVF was the only way to get exposure tools (aside from zebra) while shooting 240fps mode, since the FS700 doesn't display histogram in Super SloMo mode.
